Commissioned by Norwich University of the Arts, Where The Home Is was a collaboration with Ian Brownlie, working with a group of Home Educated children and young people to explore what is meant by Home.
The project was informed by Cooking Sections' 'Moveable Estates', commissioned for New Geographies in 2019. We were interested in what actually constitutes the feeling of home, how is it experienced through the senses, and is it transportable.
A series of three workshops invited participants to create sound maps, visual representations of sound and clay sculptures, alongside making audio recordings in and around their home. The session audio was taken with participant's recordings and my own audio to create a collaborative sound piece.
